Is this a tracking app?
No — and the difference is the whole point. A tracker shows exactly where someone is, whenever anyone looks, and keeps the trail. Small World shows the people you've connected with a rough area at most, never a history, and an exact spot only if you share it — and nudges you both when you happen to be closer than usual.
Can my friends see where I am on a map?
Roughly, if you let them — a wide area, never with a history attached, and an exact pin only if you share one. Safe zones blur home and work even more, and Stealth takes you off the map. You choose a level for each person, and the more private setting always wins when two people have picked differently.
What if I don't want to be found today?
Turn on Stealth mode. You're off the map until you come back — after 1, 8 or 24 hours, or whenever you say. No notification is sent and nobody is told you did it. Meet Ups you created stay visible to the people you invited.
Does it eat my battery?
Not much. Most of the time Small World uses coarse, infrequent updates. It only gets precise in Active mode, which uses a bit more battery and switches itself back off after a while.
Is it free?
Small World is free to download today. If that ever changes we'll say so plainly and in advance — and the privacy features will never be the part you have to pay for.
Who's behind it?
A small independent team in Germany. No investors asking us to grow at any cost, no ad business that needs your data. If you want to say hello: support@small-world.app.
